What people say
9 Frequent questions
What is the strength and hardness of microcement?
One of this material’s most significant properties is its high resistance and hardness; is highly resistant to traffic, knocks, scratches and sunlight.
Can microcement be applied on rooftops? Is it safe?
Yes, microcement can be applied on rooftops. We will need to do a liquid membrane/waterproof coating underneath and then we’ll be applying microcement. The surface will be non-slip and therefore safe.
On what supports can microcement be applied?
Microcement can be applied to almost any type of support: cement mortar, self-leveling, terrazzo, marble, tile, plasterboard-Pladur, or plaster, on both vertical and horizontal surfaces in interior and exterior spaces.
Never apply on natural wood or supports made of various sections which will distend differently.
The support must be consolidated and stable.
The surface must be dry and free of dust or grease.
The planimetry of the support will determine the final result.
Can it be applied to a radiant floor?
Yes, but before applying it, a heating protocol must be carried out in order to avoid the possibility that expansion, produced by the temperature changes in the floor, will crack the microcement itself.
Is microcement waterproof?
The use of a sealer as a final coating will ensure a water-proof capability. Microcement may be applied to sinks, bathtubs, or wet areas, but the surface must always be sealed.
Is microcement non-slip?
Yes, depending on the type of microcement used and the texture achieved, any non-slip surface is obtainable.
How long does a renovation take?
An application of Microcement can be carried out between three to five days. To walk over the floor surface, we recommend waiting for 6 to 7 days.
Is it necessary to plan the doors?
No, it is unnecessary, since the application creates only 1 to 3 mm of thickness over the surface.
